☕️☕️☕️☕️ 4.0 #KristiCocoas Sometimes I relate too much to Rabbit and sometimes I am too much like Froggie -but what's life without some friends?! Cute and fun. A good read. #kidlit #readingrecommendations 📚Review+✍️Activity! "Things That Are Most in the World" -Judi Barrett, illus John Nickle.
☕️☕️☕️☕️4.5 #KristiCocoas The most imaginative picture book in the world is this book being read in different accents while in a play fort under the kitchen table. It is silly and cute and fun all rolled into one idea. Each page explores "the most" of one particular descriptive word and it is such a fun idea. The book itself includes a great prompt at the end to encourage your own little imaginer. I've attached my own version of the prompt below along with another page to spark your thinking. You can cut out and randomly draw an adjective or just pick your own! ☕️☕️☕️☕️4 Kristi Cocoas. As the narrator tries to tell a story, the Hungry Lion keeps getting in the way... or does he?! A humorous book with an unexpected ending, it is delightful. Especially for your shorties who like to point to the pictures while you read. #kidlit #PB #KristiCocoas A memory came up of a poem I wrote long ago, and I thought I would share it today! Pretty sure I'm sitting on a gold mine: My Morning at the Rec Center
‘Twas Saturday morning and all through the courts were racquets, balls bouncing, and men in short shorts. I looked for my family and found them in eight. I decided to stretch, as I sat there to wait. Then what to my wondering eyes should I see, but the back of my lids at about 9:23. I had stretched to the point where I stayed very still, and my eyes started to close against my own will. So I pulled on my coat and laid down my head. Some sweatshirts I used for my makeshift bed. I lay there and slept to a lullaby of sorts; sounds of racquets, balls bouncing, and men in short shorts. |
